Welcome to Blue Water Miniature Horse Club!

The Blue Water Miniature Horse Club is dedicated to promoting Shetlands and Miniature Horses. Founded in the late 1980s, our club has grown alongside the increasing popularity of the Miniature Horses and Shetland Ponies and continues to provide opportunities for learning, exhibiting, and celebrating these amazing breeds.

Based in Michigan, we welcome members from across Michigan, the U.S., and Canada. Whether you’re an experienced exhibitor, a breeder, or simply a fan of Mini Horses and Shetlands, we invite you to join our community! Check out our Membership page to learn how you can become part of the club.

Our Mission

We are passionate about:

BWMHC Jubilee Show

Our annual Jubilee, AMHR/ASPC-sanctioned show, is professionally managed and a qualifying event for the AMHR Nationals in Tulsa, OK. This prestigious event highlights top-tier Miniature Horses and Shetlands competing in a variety of classes. Visit our Shows & Events Show page for more details!

Educational Clinics & Community Events

We believe in learning, sharing, and growing together. Our club hosts informational clinics featuring expert judges, professional grooms, veterinarians, and experienced members. Deb M.

Deb and her granddaughter have been showing AMHR and ASPC animals for the last 10 years. Deb is also a certified ASPC steward and travels to show to work, when she is not showing. Her young horse in training, with hopes to drive when he is old enough.

Sadie B.

Sadie is 9 years old and loves to show her ASPC/AMHR mini Party. She has been working with Party since she was a yearling. This year her goal is to start driving. Someday she wants to go to the Pinto World Show. Sadie was the recipient of the ASPC Judges Heart Award at the 2024 BWMHC Jubilee Show.
